The Cybermen are human brains encased in impervious metal skin, stamped with the Cybus Corporation logo. They’re hugely strong, almost invulnerable and have a deadly electrical touch, but they have no humanity and no emotion. These are removed by the use of an emotional inhibitor - a weakness the Doctor can exploit - or the pain would drive these upgraded humans mad.
