Gerald Gerald Gerald Gerald

Species: Lowland Gorilla

Gerald has a joie de vivre and loves people, although Albert would tell you he’s a bothersome young upstart. He likes to entertain but has learnt not to be too adventurous, as when your arms are much longer than your legs gymnastics can be perilous.

The Gorilla is the largest living primate, and Gerald is an impressive example of his type. He takes his appearance work very seriously and draws inspiration from the other great apes in ‘the business’, such as King Kong, Dr. Zaius and Bingo from ‘The Banana Splits.’

Western Lowland Gorillas are the smallest sub-species of Gorilla and Gerald is a typical example of a fully grown large male, standing completely upright at approximately 6’ tall.

Our primate handlers travel with Gerald and keep him in line; he's been known to play on being an endangered species to get his own way, and disappear up trees if it fails. As every venue is different, we run through all the practicalities with each client individually.
