Seemingly meek slaves of mankind in the future, the Ood communicate via telepathy with each other using a Translator Ball, to talk to their human masters. On their homeworld, the Ood Sphere, massive breeding camps were set up by humanity to create an endless supply of Ood slaves, lobotomising them to make them docile.

The Ood first appeared in 'The Impossible Planet' and returned in the 2008 story 'Planet of the Ood'.
