Produced by the technology brought to Earth by the Family of Blood, the killer Scarecrows were created via molecular fringe animation. The Family used them firstly to infiltrate the village dance and then, once they had located the Doctor, they attacked him and the pupils at the school where the Doctor was living as the human teacher, John Smith.

The Scarecrows appear in the 2007 episodes, ‘Human Nature’ and ‘The Family of Blood’.
